Matter in the stream of time

The life of forms, both natural and artificial, is objective and verifiable in physical reality, but is perceived by man through sensory subjectivity. Our mental reality is densely populated by psychic elaborations, but shares constitutive laws and their mathematical declinations with the physical environment.

Every boundary is blurred: it thickens and thins, to the point of evanescence, as in a dream. A continuous and unstoppable flow, iridescent and magmatic, from which human creativity draws.

Signs, colours and shapes are thus organised to give life to new entities endowed with an aesthetic personality, which, rooted in matter, enter into historical reality to measure themselves with all the variables of the physical environment, in particular with light, in time. They register the trace of time, absorbing lived experience and stratifying it in matter.

Aesthetic perception, nourished by its cultural dimension, will thus also be able to give value to the entropic and degrading results that time inevitably brings, with particular evidence on surfaces.

On the other hand, conservation and restoration interventions will attempt to interpret these signs, to lead them back to new configurations.

Experiencing the transformation of all the perceptible and imperceptible variables of the vital flow: this makes it possible to establish an analogous relationship between the work and the living entities, each considered in its different aspects, material and immaterial.

It is in this existential dimension that the possibility of an affective relationship between the individual work and the individual human being, between the totality of human creations and the social community, a relationship modulated by the cultural articulations of historical time, matures.
